Amazing news! I’m so behind with the show, but the little that I have seen has been really entertaining – and Kirsten is, as always, amazing in this role.

DEADLINE – One month after its season 1 premiere, Showtime has ordered a second season of its critically acclaimed comedy On Becoming A God In Central Florida, from Sony’s TriStar Television.

Created and executive produced by Robert Funke and Matt Lutsky and starring Kirsten Dunst, On Becoming A God is a darkly comedic story about the cult of free enterprise and one woman’s relentless pursuit of the American Dream. In addition to Dunst, the first season stars Théodore Pellerin, Mel Rodriguez, Beth Ditto and Ted Levine.

“With such imaginative storytelling and an absolutely inspired lead performance, On Becoming A God In Central Florida has been a revelation,” said Jana Winograde, President of Entertainment, Showtime Networks. “Kirsten, Esta, Robert, Matt and Charlie have crafted a wondrous blend of satirical light within the economic and emotional melancholy that confronts so many Americans. We couldn’t be happier that On Becoming A God is on Showtime, nor more eager to see what wild events await our ensemble in the downline of season two.”

Set in a small Orlando-adjacent town in 1992, On Becoming A God In Central Florida follows Krystal Stubbs (Dunst), a minimum-wage water park employee who lies, schemes and cons her way up the ranks of Founders American Merchandise (FAM) — the cultish, flag-waving, multibillion-dollar pyramid scheme that drove her to ruin in the first place, run by the powerful Obie Garbeau II (Levine). Determined to make a better life for herself, Krystal dives deep into FAM and develops a tangled relationship with FAM’s most loyal and fanatical follower Cody (Pellerin), until her business begins to affect those closest to her, including Ernie (Rodriguez), her affable water park boss, and his FAM-skeptic wife Bets (Ditto).

Produced by Sony’s TriStar Television, the series is also executive produced by Smokehouse Pictures’ George Clooney and Grant Heslov, Esta Spalding, who also serves as showrunner, along with Dunst and Charlie McDowell.

Season 1 is currently airing on Sundays at 10 PM ET/PT on Showtime.

Kirsten was spotted last week filming a pool scene for her new tv series “On Becoming a God in Central Florida“. She could be seen filming scenes with fellow actor Kevin J. O’Connor while a group of swimmers all run out past the two. The series, filming in Louisiana, is about “Krystal Gill” (Dunst’s character), a minimum-wage-earning water park employee who will eventually scheme her way up the ranks of Founders American Merchandise: the cultish, flag waving, multi-billion dollar pyramid scheme that drove her family to ruin.

The series was in development by AMC and its now to be released by Youtube Premium. Check in our gallery the pictures:

Things are a little bit quiet on Kikiland lately and, because of that, we didn’t have much new updates to do. So, today, I was able to get a better copy of the Star Trek: The Next Generation episode Kirsten guest starred back in 1993 (with the help of Gates McFadden Files) and replaced the old, low-quality-tagged version of screen captures for better ones. Enjoy!

YouTube Premium has given a series order to the dark comedy “On Becoming a God in Central Florida,” Variety has learned.

Kirsten Dunst stars in and executive produces the series, with George Clooney and Grant Heslov executive producing via their Smokehouse Pictures banner.

The show, which was previously in development at AMC, is described as a darkly comedic tale about the cult of free enterprise and one young woman’s relentless pursuit of the American dream. Set near Orlando in the early 1990s, the show centers on Krystal Gill (Dunst), a minimum-wage-earning water park employee who will eventually scheme her way up the ranks of Founders American Merchandise: the cultish, flag waving, multi-billion dollar pyramid scheme that drove her family to ruin. YouTube has ordered a 10-episode first season, which is slated to debut in 2019.

The series was co-created by Robert Funke and Matt Lutsky, who will executive produce in addition to writing. Esta Spalding will also executive produce and serve as showrunner, with Charlie McDowell directing and executive producing. TriStar Television will produce.

Sofia Coppola’s The Beguiled was released on digital HD last month, and last Tuesday (October 10) the movie arrived on DVD and Blu-Ray. You can find now in our gallery screen captures from the movie and from the movie’s extras.

Starred by Kirsten Dunst, Nicole Kidman, Elle Fanning, Colin Farrell, Angourie Rice, Oona Laurence and more, the film is based on Thomas P. Cullinan’s novel of the same name. It’s the second time the book has been adapted for the big screen; Don Siegel also directed a version starring Clint Eastwood in 1971. Essentially, the movie focuses on a boarding school in the South during the Civil War where tension ensues when a wounded enemy soldier stays with the women at the school.
