Spidey’s sweetheart found herself in a sticky situation on Wednesday when the lawyer for the man accused of swiping her purse at the SoHo Grand claimed “there were drugs in the room.”

James Jimenez’s lawyer claims his client was just tagging along with drug dealer Jarrod Beinerman, who was invited up to actress Kirsten Dunst‘s hotel room.

“Beinerman is a major New York drug dealer,” defense lawyer Robert Parker said as Jimenez’s retrial got under way. Jimenez “obviously had permission to be there,” he added.

Prosecutors immediately objected and Parker was barred from revealing more about Beinerman’s criminal background unless he gets called to testify.

Beinerman is already serving a four-year stint for the burglary.

The “Spider-Man” starlet was not in Manhattan Supreme Court when Parker made the charge, but her spokesman flatly denied it.

“That is completely false and clearly a desperate ploy by the attorney,” Stephen Huvane said.

Dunst is expected to take the stand next week. Her assistant, Liat Baruch, will testify today about the pot that was found in her oversized Balenciaga bag – a fact that was revealed at Jimenez’s first trial.

Outside the courtoom, Parker claimed Dunst likes to party and was planning to “celebrate” after wrapping the movie “How to Lose Friends and Alienate People.”

To get to Dunst’s room, Jimenez and Beinerman would have had to run a gantlet of security guards, Parker said.

Beinerman was “selling drugs to someone on the penthouse floor,” the lawyer said. “How did those guys get up to the penthouse floor? It’s a very, very secure floor.”

Jimenez is charged with an Aug. 2007 break-in at the hotel, where Dunst and actor Simon Pegg were staying.

Last year, a jury acquitted him of one burglary charge and deadlocked on two other burglary charges.

At his first trial, Jimenez’s lawyer insisted he was too dumb to pull off a heist.

Jimenez told the court he cluelessly followed a pal into the unlocked suite and didn’t know the buddy snatched Dunst’s $2,000 handbag and Pegg’s iPod and camera.

Prosecutors contend Jimenez knew exactly what he was doing when he went to the swanky hotel with Beinerman.
